We asked three of our recent couples what wedding planning advice they’d give to future brides. They’ve each told us the one thing that really made an impact on their big day, advice which may provide you with some inspiration for planning your wedding day…
1. Avoid top table tribulation
Wedding planning is difficult enough without worrying about who’s going to be sitting at your top table. The stress of family politics can sometimes be overwhelming.
Sandy C from Colchester said:
“You don’t have to have a traditional long top table. We had a sweetheart table just for the two of us. Our closest friends and family were seated on the three nearest tables to us – it worked perfectly!!”

2. Keep the kids in mind when wedding planning!
Weddings should be fun for all the family. However, there are some bits that you want your adult guests to enjoy but that your younger guests may get restless during.
Kerry-Lee H from Bournemouth said:
“We used a brilliant company called the Wedding Crécherz. Danielle and her team kept our kids completely engaged and occupied, leaving their parents to let their hair down and really enjoy the wedding with us. Couldn’t recommend more highly!”
3. Taking time out just for you two…
The biggest mistake couples make is forgetting that this is THEIR special day. It’s important to steal a few moments where you can revel in your recent nuptials. All that time spent wedding planning will have paid off, relax and enjoy your day.
Dan and Fiona S from Surrey said:
“The team at The Italian Villa were brilliant. Our Event Manager saw us in the garden, having a moment away from our guests, and they brought us a glass of bubbly and our own tray of canapes – it was a lovely touch. And because the venue is around the corner from Sandbanks beach, we nipped down and had some photos on the beach too, which look amazing!”
